LOOK INSIDE. Johnny Depp does not sell French village and gives a 6.2 million euro discount

Johnny Depp (57) cannot get rid of the French village that he has been trying to sell for some time now. The actor has owned the domain – 15 hectares with a country house, 12 cottages, two swimming pools, a chapel and a village pub with professional kitchen – for more than 10 years now. Because the sale has already been canceled twice before, Depp is now lowering the price by about 6.2 million euros.

Depp bought the estate with several properties in 2001 with his girlfriend at the time, the Frenchwoman Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children. The couple started renovating the houses on the estate almost immediately after the purchase, some of which date back to the time of the French Revolution. According to experts, Depp and Paradis spent more than 8.2 million euros on refurbishing and renovating the various buildings.

The actor was very fond of the spot on the French Riviera. “With Vanessa and the kids we live in a kind of small village, it’s like a paradise,” he said in an interview with the French magazine VSD in 2009. “The estate has 121,000 square meters and you know what I’m doing there? Nothing!” Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp broke up in 2012 after a relationship of 14 years.

The estate was first put up for sale in 2015, but it was suddenly taken off the market. An explanation was never given for this. A year later, in 2016, the actor made another attempt and his village was up for sale for more than 52.2 million euros, local reports said at the time. According to an insider, Depp wants to move on with his life and leave the chapter in France for good, and is therefore willing to lower the price even further: the village is currently for sale for about 46 million euros.
